Her upcoming first solo record, funny anecdotes about recording the new songs and musicians who contributed, the arrangement for the “Young Folks” cover, the meaning of “Happy Thoughts”, Ireland VS rest of the world.

Hello OneMoreTune visitors, this is Vyvienne Long for OneMoreTune and I hope there is not too much bullshit in my interview

Who: Vyvienne Long (Co. Wicklow)
Latest record: her first solo album will be released in a few month. Being a member of Damien Rice’s band, “her” latest album is 9 (Warner, 2006)
Online: vyviennelong.com and myspace.com/vyvlong
Recommended Fansite: vyviennelong.net
Our favorite video: this live version of Never Leave You (especially for the speech before it!).
Where we met: we met in Dalkey, at her friend Dominic’s place.
Why we like her: she’s been contributing with amazing taste to Damien Rice’s music, that’s what made us curious to know more about her solo career. We’ve been introduced some months ago at Peter Morén’s concert and from the very first moment she’s been so friendly and sweet. No wonder that now we really like her not only for her musical talent but also for her genuine way of relating to people.

Behind the scenes: A few days before the interview Vyvienne had played at Radio City and her sister Miriam joined the band. When we mentioned that, she told us that actually her sister had to play to save the show, since one of the cellists got injured. Apparently, Miriam learned the songs in the car while driving to the venue (!).
