OneMoreTune meets Roots Manuva
January 23, 2009
The feeling behind “Slime and Reason”, “Let the Spirit” and gospel music in the hip hop era, funny memories about his collaboration with Damon Albarn and Gorillaz, a secret project about children’s books and bananas.
My trademark is to keep it off the normal thinking…
Who: Roots Manuva (UK)
Latest record: Slime and Reason (Big Dada, 2008).
Online: myspace.com/rootsmanuva and rootsmanuva.co.uk
Our favourite video: witness the fitness
Where we met: the academy
Why we like him: since we first watched the video for “witness the fitness” he instantly became our heroe. that’s class, man!
Behind the scenes: when we meet artists or artists’ managers and they hear our names they usually go like “are you spanish?” (no, we are italian). but this time it was different. when we introduced ourselves to roots manuva’s manager Iain he said “nice irish names!”. pretty memorable :D
