Joint interview about the meaning of Robotnik’s and Reader’s wives’ band names, snippets of some controversial reviews of their records, insights, random revelations…and an exclusive two-second look at Robotnik without glasses.

Who: Reader’s wives and Robotnik.
Latest record: “Reader’s wives” (la fabrica, 2008) and “Pleasant square”
Online: myspace.com/readerswives, myspace.com/robotnikmusic and robotnik.mu
Our favourite videos: this halloween version of “it’s so cool”
Where we met: we did the interview in whelans upstairs, but we actually met them in the fresh market in wexford st.
Why we like them: we like robotnik’s glasses and we like reader’s wives because we are sure they like robotnik’s glasses too!
Behind the scenes: this interview was totally unexpected. I mean, we were definitely hoping to do it someday, but that specific day there was no plan to do it. We were just chatting outside Whelan’s after doing another interview, when we saw Robotnik and Niall crossing the street and stepping into Fresh Supermarket. So we decided to follow them and introduce ourselves. The guys were really nice and agreed on doing the interview 10 mins later, so we left them alone with their sandwiches.
Actually, when we met later, they told us that afterwards an old lady approached them in Fresh supermarket too, but apparently she just wanted to start an argument with them (!!).
We didn’t really understand the full meaning of that story. Anyway, we wanted to share it with you, dear readers (’ wives?).
