OneMoreTune meets Mark Geary
September 12, 2009
Making music in New York, how he became friends with Glen Hansard and what keeps them so close, the Irish melancholy as the background feeling of his music, the picture of an old shoe as the metaphor of a life
I think about Dublin all the time…
Who: Mark Geary (Dublin, Ireland)
Latest record: Opium (Independent Records / Sonablast!)
Online: myspace.com/markgeary
Our favourite video: you’re the only girl
Where we met: Odessa Club
Why we like him: before meeting him in person, of course we liked his music. Thanks to this interview we realised that not only is he a good singer-songwriter, he’s also a super sweet guy, very friendly and very gentle.
Behind the scenes: after the (great) gig that Mark held at the Odessa that night (and after having an unexpected interview with Glen Hansard!) we went back to chat a little with him and we found out that he’s into soccer and he’s a fan of Francesco Totti. Good taste, Mark! ;)
