OneMoreTune meets Adrian Crowley
July 1, 2009
New album Season of the Sparks and its positive meaning, the confusing sound of The Wishing Seat, his friendship with James Yorkston, the residency experience at Whelans when his previous album came out.
An epic story of something very ordinary
Who: Adrian Crowley (Dublin)
Latest record: Season of the Sparks (Tin Angel, 2009)
Online: myspace.com/adriancrowley and adriancrowley.com
Our favourite video: this cover of “true love will find you in the end” (Daniel Johnston) with James Yorkston
Where we met: the Sugar club, the night of the launch of “season of the sparks”
Why we like him: because his three songs set at the Choice music awards 2008 was so magnetic that after a year we are still thinking of it.
Behind the scenes: when we first approached Adrian Crowley for an interview it was a year ago. Eventually we had to cancel it, and the same happened four other times in the following months. when we saw his concert scheduled at the sugar club for the launch of the album, we thought we couldn’t miss it but we were so embarassed to call him again that we were actually thinking of just going to the concert without doing the interview (ever). Luckily we decided to make a last try and we finally made it. Thanks, Adrian!
